On my TV's,
I just drilled and tapped the steel band that goes around the end of the stinger hole with a 3/8″ x 16 TPI hole and then screwed in a Grade 8 bolt 1″ long (put on a Grade 8 nut on first) into the newly tapped hole. This bolt was slightly cone pointed.
Put in the stinger, inserted cross pin, backed up to a tree and put a chain around the ball and tree and put enough tension on the stinger to pull it into place, then tightened up the bolt and locked it down with the extra lock nut.
Nothing rattles or moves around, and it serves a second purpose, the stinger stays where it put and doesn't walk away when parked at the big box stores. As I have found the hitch keeper pin lying on the ground several times, but the the stinger is still there.
The 2 wrenches are stored inside the camper on the self to remove the stinger, when it has to be removed for a good reason.
Having the stinger there has also saved my back side from the people who don't have good depth perception when they back out of a parking space etc.
