Scott Thompson out of the Sacramento, California Area
I just joined the site today after finding some experiences by others regarding my planned remodel of my rig. I have a 2004 Winn Journey. My wife has never liked the interior. We bought this great MH from a friend who offered it to us after he changed his mind after only 1 night of camping. We sold our 2002 Pace Arrow at the time. So now we are updating the interior to meet our (my wifes) requirements.
1. Modifying the flooring. Removing the white carpet and replacing with Lock n Seal Advanced Laminate Flooring from Sam's Club. and removing the peel and stick tile in the bath area and looking at replacing it with the floating floor product which looks like tile from Home Depot.
2 Swapping out the brass cabinet and drawer pulls (bar and knobs) and hinges with brushed nickel. If anyone is looking for these .. let me know we can work a deal for the ones I am removing. All of the hinges are going too… if anyone knows of a cheap source for the equivalent original Winnebago hinges in brushed nickle let me know as I am looking for the these at a reasonable price too. I don't need “self closing” hinges.
3. Lighting. I will also be replacing all of the brass lighting fixtures in the living area of the front part of the motorhome with brushed nickle. Looking for spot lights and doomed under cabinet lights. Obviously I will have the replacements in brass if anyone is looking to swap…
4. LCD TV(s) - I would like to replace the huge Sony TV above the drivers seat in the front of the motorhome with an LCD and modify the cabinet to be less intrusive and less of a head bumper as you enter the motorhome if anyone has done this. I also want to change out the TV in the corner of the bedroom in back with a wall mounted LCD to make more room to walk around the bed on the left side (which is impossible to navigate). If anyone is thinking of either of these changes or have done it I would gladly welcome your discovery and experiences or thoughts.
I am very impressed by this site and hope to contribute my own thoughts and modifications to all who are members.
