Helllo all –
While I consider myself a handy person — having done countless home remodeling projects and the like – I was always hesitant to do anything to my rather humble RV.
My mind has been changed, however, by my last visit to the RV dealer. When I sat down and did the math, I realized that at a minimum I need to be doing my own repairs (they charge $109/hr. for labor, and charged for one water heater component not much less than a whole new water heater might have costed had I bought my own).
Then I got to thinking, that, if I am going to do the work and go through the hassle of doing a repair, then, perhaps I could/should upgrade here and there while I am at it.
For example if I had found this site sooner, I would have upgraded to a tankless water heater, instead of patching up the old one.
That said, I have a lot of questions and concerns that I'll want to talk over, before I get out the cordless drill and “get nuts” modding the ol' trailer.
Hopefully y'all can be patient with me, as I may be asking things of minor importance. My biggest constraint is that I dare not risk the wrath of my wife for “screwing up the camper.”
