Hi!  We are Les and Denise, although Les will likely NEVER post because he doesn't type LOL.  We are a 50ish couple, married 30 years and have two grown children back home in Arkansas.  We are transplanted Hawgs (25 years) but hail from southern Oklahoma for generations back.

Les is a traveling nurse, and we full time from one contract to the other in our 2000 model Salem 27' BH TT.  We bought it when the kids were still home and camping with us, and it's been a fantastic little camper…”camper” being the operative word.  With the two of us, the cats Squeeker and Buddha and springer spaniel Maddie, living in it is a little cozier than is comfortable.  Plus, we now need something with an arctic package so he can take winter assignments in colder climates if necessary.

Our tow vehicle is a 2006 Dodge 3500 Laramie edition dually.  It's the nicest vehicle we've ever owned!

The current plan is shortly to purchase the '96 Excel 32' 5th wheel that his parents own.  It has probably not set outside 60 days total in its life, and my FIL is a stickler for maintenance, so it has been very well kept.  That said, you can imagine how dated the inside decor is.  Things are gonna change and I am very excited to get started.  I've already started collecting ideas!

Thanks fo having this site - I am looking forward to meeting some really creative people who know how to make the most of what they have.  I am very much into the idea of green living, although the transfer from “idea” to “lifestyle” is going kind of slow.  But I do feel that re-using something that is older and already here is preferrable to the purchase of something new.  Then there is the issue of new RV decor.  It just doesn't do much for me.  And of course nothing is nicer than things customized to our unique individual tastes, lifestyle, and usage.

Welcome to the forums Les and Denise! Here is an article about going green with your RV I wrote last year. It may be of interest to you:
