You should see the looks we get when my husband introduces himself and says “we're from LA” with our deep south accents.

Anyway we just traded (Jan 2011) our bumper pull for a fifth wheel.  We haven't made any mods to the fifth wheel yet…the previous owner added some electrical outlets.  I haven't found anything that needs to be changed or added yet.  We lucked up on this unit.  First one we looked at when we decided we wanted a fifthwheel.  It had everything we wanted and looked absolutely brand new. It is a 2008 Sandpiper 345RET. The dealer made an offer that we couldn't refuse and gave us a great trade on our bumper pull.   We love it.  Our bumper pull was really nice…bunk house slide room but no recliners and not quite as comfy and roomy as the Sandpiper.  We made our maiden voyage Mar 6 thru Mar 28 to a State Park nearby and spent most of the time showing the RV.  People kept coming by and admiring it.  

My husband made a mod to the bumper pull.  The underbed storage was an area we didn't use much…so he made boxes that he fit into an opening he cut in each side of the underbed storage…trimmed it out and we used that for our shoes.  This freed up the space to walk near the bed and worked great.  Didn't make any pictures to share…but that was the only mod we did.

We are looking to add stabilizers to keep the unit from moving as much.  So..I am researching that for him.  He says “You're the brains…I'm the brawn”.  Ha!  Glad to be here and hope to learn a lot from you folks!
