I have a 2005 Outback Trailer with a Carrier AirV Ducted air conditioner. I had an error code “compressor drive malfunction”. I fixed that by reading these forums.

My problem now: The owner manuel says the fan should run all the time and only the compressor should cycle off. In the owners manuel - trouble shooting- it states if the whole unit shuts down this is normal.

Should the unit shut down when it reaches desired temperature and cycle back up to desired temperature or should the unit run continuous with only the compressor cycling on and off?

The remote on my Carrier AirV gives me three modes for the fan …

Auto - the fan will cycle on and off with the compressor when it reaches the temp.

Low - low fan speed - should only be used in cool areas for just air circulation

High - high fan speed - fan will run all the time / compressor will cycle on and off

These settings are controlled with the fan speed button on the remote.
