Curious if anyone here has changed over from 12 volt deep cycle batts to 6 volt golf cart batts. I would like to do the mod to my travel trailer and am wondering if the current solar charger i use will work with the new batteries. Any help is appreciatedCool

Hi: 

 I just switched my two cheapo 12v batts to two 6v golfcart type batteries.  Got 'em at Costco for about $80 each.  They needed wired in series, where the old 12v were in parallel.  In series, the two batteries are now 12v together.  

You need to know the output for your solar panels, the positioning of the panels, and if this will be the only source of charging for the batteries.  The golfcart batteries like a longer slow charge cycle, and depending on how large your power draw is,  it may work out.  If not, add more solar panels…..
