I recently got a 2005 Pilgrim 5th wheel - pretty loaded except minus the TV. It had the typical “cubby”/space in a vertical entertainment center that would hold a small TV. Since I had to buy a new TV for the trailer, anyway, I decided I wanted to upgrade to a 32″ LCD. I found a Samsung that is only 3″ thick for $390 delivererd on Ebay! I also found a shelf that slides and swivels. So, what I'm doing is mounting the shelf in the bottom of the TV space, mount the LCD on the front of the slide out shelf (Since the 32″ TV is wider than the cabinet, it will be in front of the cabinet), and then I can use the remainder of the slide out shelf for storage. I plan to sit the subwoofer there. Others, with proper reinforcing, mount an articulating arm inside the TV opening, let it protrude out of the opening, and mount a LCD TV outside the opening.
Regards,
John

jaustinmd, do you have a link to the sliding/swiveling shelf? I am thinking of doing something similar to your mod and have been looking around for deals on this very part. Thanks!

Here's the link to the shelf I bought: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190348232404 , however, there was only one available from this source … it was “used” but in like-new condition. You can find them retail but they're $$$. This thing is industrial-strength - rated for 150 lbs!!! I lucked-out and no one bid but me, so I got a real deal. Since I'm going to mount the 21 lb LCD right on the front edge, I wanted something substantial !
Here's some pics of the shelf install:

If you look carefully, you can see a felt bumper that I put on the inside of the trim on the right side of the opening to keep the metal shelf from scratching it.
The TV comes next week and I'll update with more pics then.
Regards,
John

That's still a good price relative to retail. I can vouch for the quality - they're heavy duty!

I finished my LCD TV install. So as not to creep this thread further, I'm going to start a new topic ” 32″ LCDTV Install ” and post it under member mods.

John
