I just bought our first travel trailer. It has the quad bunks and I want to mount flip down lcd tv's where the lights at mounted. Now I know its possible but I am so confused as what I can mount as far as ac or dc… I can buy under the cabinet tv like for a kitchen. Or I can mount a 12v car flip down like for a suv or car. So thats where I need the help… When the trailer is plugged in it's 110ac correct and when unplugged it pulls from the battery and switches to 12v correct? Please help camping season starts a week from today and I really wanted this done before were off and running. Any advise I would appreciate.

Welcome to the forums! I would definitely go with the 12-volt automotive-style flip down. You will be able to use the monitor at any time since AC power is not required. I am planning this very mod for the bunk area in my TT, though I only have 2 bunks. It might be the only way to get my 9-year-old to sleep in there!

If you end up doing this mod, could you snap a few pics so we can see how it came out? Thanks and happy modding!

On edit: forgot to answer your other question. When your TT is plugged in, 12-volt power is provided by way of a converter and your battery. When not plugged in, only the battery supplies 12-volt power. Your lights and switches always use 12-volt power so no matter which power source you use, 12 volts is always available.
