Ready to update the interior.  I want wicker/rattan for the sofa bed, but can only find that finish on a futon frame, not a jackknife frame.

We've had one jackknife mechanism reupholstered, so I know you can do that.  I wonder if I could purchase the frame I want as a futon, then replace the mechanism part with a jackknife mechanism?

OR…

Instead of using a mattress on a futon frame, could it be upholstered so that the seat and back are separate and stationary, just like a jackknife?
