We have camped in private campgrounds that have street lights that are real low to the ground….they always happen to shine in our bedroom window  at night….We have day-night shades but in the night position the light still comes thru…I would like to be able to block the light.  I tend to wake up thinking it is dawn……What is an economical solution….

We were camped in a campground last week that had too many street lights…during the night I kept waking up and sure enough I could read by the light even though I had the shades in the night position…..I went to WalMart and bought those sun shades that you put on your windshields ….It worked…..

My wife used dark plastic trash bags to block the light when we were in Alaska. It worked very well.

also inexpensive.

Here in the Land of the Midnight Sun, this is always a problem. But we have found ways to deal with it. We used dark towels (ours were blue) and sewed velcro tape to the edges in a couple spots. We then used the self adhesive other side on the walls around the window and that shut out almost all the light. We also used dark smoke vent covers so we could leave the vents open at night and stuffed a foam rubber square into the shower stall skylight, holding it in place with buel painters tape (that doesn't leave any residue). This combination of tricks kept our fifthwheel dark enough even in the midnight sun to sleep very well.
