Hi Everyone!
We’re starting a contest beginning today where you can win a free Vornado Air Circulation Fan, like the one in Mod# 92: Under Cabinet Air Circulation Fan, valued at $39.95. There are 3 fans available for the taking so there will be 3 winners. Here are the rules:
1. Submit a modification you have made to your RV that is not already on the ModMyRV website.
2. The modification should describe what the mod is, it’s difficulty level (1-5, 1 being easy), how to do the mod, be accompanied by a minimum of 4 good quality pictures, and should be a minimum of 200 words in length.
3. After reviewing submissions and your mod is accepted, the mod will be posted to the ModMyRV website and you will receive notification via email that you are a winner. You will be given full credit as the contributor of the mod as well.
4. The first 3 people to have their mods accepted will each win 1 fan, which will be shipped to you free of charge. Those that submit mods after there are 3 winners will still have their mods posted provided the mod is accepted.
5. You can submit your mod via email to contests@modmyrv.com. The mod can be written in the email message itself or included as a Word document or Adobe PDF document. Attach any images to the email as well.
6. Winners and contest progress will be posted daily in this forum thread until the contest ends at midnight on February 19th, 2010, or when there are 3 winners, whichever comes first.
We hope you enjoy this contest and we look forward to some greats mods. Happy modding!

Folks, we have our first contest winner. ModMyRV member roncryderman submitted a mod on how to organize his fishing poles using a simple and cheap mounting solution. Check it out here:
Mod #93: Fishing Pole Holders
Congratulations roncryderman! Your Vornado fan is on its way.
We have 2 more fans to give away so let’s see some of those creatives mods I know folks have done.

I got my Vornado fan yesterday and wanted to say thanks. I was impressed on how this is a solid product and will replace a cheap plastic fan in our trailer. Now we just have to agree on an installation location. I'm hooked on this website and look forward to the creativity of others because I certainly can't stop thinking of improvements to our camping experiences.

We have had a few more contest submissions but I know there are more mods out there. Is everyone snowed in? We have 2 Vornado fans left and only a few days left in the contest. Anybody want a free fan?

We have our second contest winner! RVfor5 came up with a way to protect the entry door from becoming dented by the door stopper. Be sure to check out his blog too. Here is a link to the mod:
Mod #94: Door Stopper Protection Plate
We have a few mods in the queue still being reviewed. Will yours be the next and final winner?

Thanks so much for the contest! It was a nice impetus for me to finally get a mod up on the site. I think you provide a heck of a good service, and I've used a bunch of information from here to make important changes to my RV!
Got my fan today - and it seems like a really nice product. It would have been great if it were 12V, but I can see the want to go with 120v. Thanks again!

Thanks RVfor5. Yeah, the only bummer about this particular model of the Vornado fan is that it's 120V. But as mentioned in the mod, it can be powered off a small inverter so not all hope is lost.
So today is the last day of the contest and I still have one fan to give away. You can submit your mods all the way up until midnight. So let's see 'em!

Well folks, the contest is over! We had a very late entry last night and I am pleased to announce that it was the final winner. RVfor5 came through with another great mod! He added indicator lights to the switch panel of his electric/gas water heater. The lights let him know if either of the switches is on rather than only when there is a problem, like the normal switch light function. Here is the link to the mod:
Mod #95: Water Heater On Lights
Congratulations RVfor5! And I would like to thank all the participants who submitted mods. Some didn't get selected (I didn't have enough fans to give away) but they were very creative and show how much we all love making mods to our RVs. And you can post them in the forums if you like.
Feel free to keep on sending in the mods. Who knows? Yours could be the next one posted for all to drool over.
