I installed this fan I bought off eBay in May 09. I can't believe the difference the fan has made. My refrigerator stayed cold, but when in and out of the box it was slow to recover. This fan has made my start ups a lot quicker, keeps  ref box cold even after you get your food in or out. Stays 30 ~34 degrees now depending on my setting, the outside temp is no longer a concern. Recirculates air back across cooling fins 2 x a minute. And now the best thing about this fan,,,, it keeps the fins free of frost!!!!!  This fan is my perfect helper.

I have installed the same fan inside my refer. Like you said it works well and prevents frost build up. I also installed this kit from Snyder's RV Refrigeration on the back of mine to help in hot weather. http://www.snydersrvrefrigeration.com/2301.html
