My cardinal has storage under steps up to bedroom.
When Itried to lift up the ones on my Son's Cedar Creek they were nailed down solid.
NOT FOR LONG!
I took the steps out and cut the treads on the table saw and installed piano hinges.
Now he's got two more storage spaces.

I had a lift step built in my Titanium..They had installed the Central Vac in there, I moved it into a space in the basement and made shoe storage for the DW. Her 3-4 pairs of shoes laying by the door got annoying. The space holds 10 pairs of shoes, vac bags, heating duct, spare flashlight. Mine came carpeted..
