I had a plain-jane pin box, got tired quickly of the laterall 'chucking' when stopping and starting, didn't do the truck and trailer any good either. A friend traded in a trailer with the anti-chucking pin box on it, I asked if I could trade mine with his before it hit the dealership, he agreed. I am not promoting the brand, as there are many others that do a great job, this just happens to be a More-Ryde. His trade-in trailer was much heavier than mine, so I ordered a lighter spring rubber, the size for my weight of trailer. They are numbered, I needed a 4 instead of the 5 he had.
The way they work, is that the rigid rubber absorbs the starting and stopping forces imposed upon us humans by the laws of physics.
This is the system I have
This is the install instructions
his is representative of the pin box I had, many of us have
This is a slide-show the change is not hard
You could probably find one of these pin boxes at your RV dealership someone has changed out, or possibly buy one on a trade it.
5th Airborne & others are great too.
Un-chuck your life!
