I recently bought a 2005 Pilgrim 30' fifth wheel that came with a DVD player and surround sound, but no TV. It has an entertainment cabinet with an approximately 26″ opening for the TV. Since the unit has a rear living room, I really wanted a bigger TV for good viewing. I decided a 32″ LCD would be a reasonable size. But, since you can't put a 32″ TV in a 26″ hole, it was necessary to mount the TV in front of the cabinet rather than within it. I was somewhat dubious of using an articulating arm in a non-stationary environment like a RV, and really quality arms are quite expensive. I stumbled across a “real deal” on Ebay … a 150 lb rated sliding, swivel shelf for a little over $20 … delivered!
Here's the shelf I got on Ebay for a little over $20 (about $140 retail!):

Rather than buy an expensive VESA mount, here are some heavy duty braces I got at Lowe's for $15/pr.:

I simply drilled the holes to match the 200 mm VESA mount!
After painting them, I bolted them to the TV and to the shelf:

Here's what the setup looks like with the slide extended and the shelf pulled out:

And here's how it looks when the slide is retracted for travel:

I have about an inch clearance between the slide and the TV when the TV is stowed:

I plan to keep the TV stowed against the face of the cabinet with either a bungee or a latch and put felt bumpers on the back of the TV to protect the face of the cabinet. I think it also might be a good idea to put a warning placard above the slide switch “TV must be stowed BEFORE retracting slide!”
