After a longer than necessary tail-light repair (new fixture, wiring harness, junction box, only to find out the problem was a $0.43 fuse in the Tahoe) my wife is pretty fired up because the radio doesn't work and the propane alarm won't stop working.

So, I figure I'm going to ask around before I spend two more weeks chasing the wrong end of the problem.

I took the radio out of the cabinet.  It is wired in-line with the light over the kitchen sink.  The light works fine, the radio display is dimly lit like it always is when the power is off, but when I hit the power button on the radio nothing.

I took the stripped radio to a local car radio shop, they hooked it up and it turned on just fine.

It seems like there is a lot more noise coming from the fuse box lately (is that the inverter?).  But I check all the fuses and they are fine.

And the tail light fuse probably blew because the trailer wire got pinched in the hitch on the maiden voyage.

Any suggestions on the next step?
