Mod Description:
Tired of lugging an extra propane tank around just for your BBQ? Don’t like the high cost and inconvenience of those little 1 pound propane canisters? What if you could connect your RV’s propane supply directly to your BBQ as simply as say, plugging in your shore power cord? The BBQ hookup mod is just what you’ve been waiting for.

There are two ways to connect your BBQ propane supply hose to the RV: using a low-pressure or a high-pressure connection. Which one you choose depends on whether your BBQ has a pressure regulator or not. Typically, most BBQs will have a pressure regulator so you can connect the supply hose to the RV either way, that is, directly to the propane tank or after the the RV pressure regulator.
If your BBQ does not have a regulator, then you must connect your supply hose to the low pressure side of the RV propane distribution hose or pipe. This is done by inserting a tee in to the supply line and fitting a quick disconnect valve to the tee. Then you fit a quick disconnect male fitting to the end of the BBQ supply hose and connect the hose to the quick disconnect valve. Voila. Instant propane.
To help reduce the amount of work necessary to retrofit the BBQ hookup mod to your RV, there are several kits available that make this mod really easy. Follow the links below and you will be well on your way to propane supply utopia.

I did this mod and love it. I can hook up my Mr Heater and grill outside at the same time. Love it.
I think that in addition to having a grill outside. I have seen a campfire by Frontier that would look great sitting outside the camper…and it would hook up the same way..
That’s a great idea Bob. I wonder what else could be fueled by propane?
Has anyone else done this mod?
I just did the mod this weekend. Was actually pretty easy. Getting ready for a big trip in a few weeks and I want my Grill Master setup to always be ready!
This connector does not look like it will work on my class A rv with a built in under floor tank. The threads look wrong. Do they make one for this type of hookup?
I did this and it is easy, My problem was that the valve wouldn’t seal at the Hi side of the tank and I even tried two more kits and not one would seal in my tank, so I must have a problem with the shut off valve on my tank. I put back the old system and it seals??? dont know whats with that. It is hard to get all the gas out so as to change the valve so I will have to just run it till it”s out, then change it so I can use the kit. But they look good and gas is a lot cheaper that way. bob
My camper came with a quick connect propane line that goes to a gas grill that mounts to the side of the camper. I would like to use that quick connet hose and hook it into a propane tree that I can then fuel my camp stoves with using the hose that goes into where a 1lb bottle hooks up at. I can’t find any fittings that match up to convert the quick connect to the other hose that goes to the stoves. Any ideas
